Final Project

I have had a blast creating my final project for Theology and Pop Culture. Rather than doing a big/nasty paper, I was allowed to create an interactive blog that looks at some of the current shifts in advertising. I used a ton of videos and pics and thought that it may be fun to meander around for readers... If you get a chance, check it out at

www.shiftingadvertising.blogspot.com

I am off to be on a houseboat with kids from GPC for the next 5 days and then straight to MI for Veenstra's wedding... I proly won't have time to write until then.

hey bro, I'm quite excited to dig more into the thoughts on that one. I'm intrigued by the "On Earth as it is in Advertising?" is it worth picking up?

Hey great blog, Mars has been doinga seris on "going green" and my sister inlaw went(first time) and came back and said great music but i feel like I was being lectured on recycling the whole time, how is that preaching? I asked her did God create the world? And in Genesis does He tell us it will be our job to name the animals and we will be masters over all the animals, fish and creatures big and small? She rolled her eyes and said yes Ben.
Well as caretakers should we be doing just that? Taking care.
I took a media in society class at GVSU and the professor was going off about the influence that advertising has and the lies that are being spread through our society by people who have control over this media. She even gave us a article where someone had followed the power and ownership of almost all media sources to just a few companies. I hope that is changing, yet the people with power seem to influence the masses, I hope and pray that the social consciouce that has developed within the celbs continues to spread and the influencers instead of using it to profit use it to proliferate this ideal.

Not only are we to name and care for (see Genesis in any version) there is something about dominion: souvereign authority, governed ownership. This would indicate that WE ARE RESPONSIBLE for the earth. So how is it so many humans could not care less. Throwing trash out car windows, leaving trash at our beautiful shores and parks, wasting--wasting--wasting and never even thinking about it.
What do you think bro't that on???
Could it be that we did not TEACH appreciation for the beauty of the earth?? Could it be that we did not TEACH appreciation for gifts given?
