Shifting Ecclesial Leadership (Conclusion)

The leadership of Jesus and Paul transcend beyond time and space. While different portions of their leadership will be prioritized within post modernity, their stories will still engage the next generation of leaders. Modernity often led humanity into extremes. This was no different for leaders leading the church into either the extreme of orthodoxy or orthopraxy. Post modernity is an opportunity to put these two important aspects of life in the Kingdom back into balance. Orthokrisis is the bridge that can help this to happen. The right sense of judgment that will be most helpful in attaining balance between orthodoxy and orthopraxy is through mission. In the end, it is the church’s greatest privilege and responsibility to equip apostles with the meaning of the drama of God’s redemption in new contexts through its corporate life. The is the primary job of leaders in equipping the saints for the shift from modernity into postmodernity.

good thoughts I agree that the drama has been castrated first through redundancy of words without relations and second through the boiling down to information without story. I also like your thoughts on carrying modernity's goodness into post-modern times. It seems to me that we are in very similar times as when Jesus was ministering in some ways. With a transition needing to occur to get to the place that our society is heading and be waiting there with the drama of God's redemption and love story. To draw people from indivuality to compassionate community in ways that only God can accomplish.
I have been considering a job title of a minister should be: seeking person who is willing to relinquish his/her life into the story of God, where their senses become finely tuned to God in the world and who are willing to make choices based on these senses. And as they live they grow to articulate these visons to the community that God draws around them through speech, oppurtunities for action and any other way that would help the community around them accept these senses for themselves. (kind of sounds a little like the three Ortho's you are suggesting, I like it Nick.)
